The UniExpress Systems principals are Ernani Verlangieri, Chief Executive Officer, and Don Lafferty, Chief Operating Officer.
UniExpress began operating in 1994 as an International Freight Forwarder and Exporter for Latin America and Europe. In 1999, we created UniExpress Systems, a brokerage and logistics provider. In 2008, we started our asset-based trucking company - UniExpress Transportation, Inc. - a truckload carrier with 48-state authority. This completed and rounded out our operation as a Worldwide Full-Service Logistics Provider.
UniExpress has offices located in Lighthouse Point, FL and Phoenix, AZ. Our fleet is located in the Midwest; Tennessee; and Arizona. The fleet includes singles and team drivers. We provide standard as well as expedited service between the West and the East. We also provide service between most points in the USA, and in and out of Mexico. We have various carriers for which we act as an agent. We also provide referral services throughout the Midwest and the West Coast.
Prior to handling any shipment for UniExpress and its customers, all carriers in our portfolio go through a pre-qualification process that includes checking their insurance, authority, and safety record. After we are sure that they qualify based on our standards, the carrier must provide a minimum of three industry references, which we examine, telephone, and discuss the carrier’s performance.
Once a carrier is on a load, it must provide us with the tractor and trailer numbers, and its driver’s phone number for direct dispatch contact. The driver must speak with our dispatcher for pickup and delivery instructions. To ensure that they understand the requirements of our bill of lading and paperwork procedures, carriers are required to call for review prior to leaving for pickup and delivery.
UniExpress Systems also has a Consulting subsidiary, where we provide businesses with the ability to outsource their transportation requirements. We develop transportation programs based on the customer’s needs. We look at our customer’s entire operation, including their transportation expenditure and how it relates to their P&L. We look at the cost of their freight operation, and how it affects their cost both internally and externally. We identify where we can reduce costs, then we implement programs based on those findings.

We maintain a Contingent Cargo Insurance policy for $250,000.00 that covers loads tendered to us so you can rest assured your product is always protected and in good hands. We have Brokerage and Contract Carrier Authority.
